Beer Styles and Descriptions
The Brew Kettle has over 150 different beer recipes, from Light Lagers to the dark British Beers. Copyright laws prevent us from listing the equivalent commercial beers, but we have most of the popular commercial beers covered with a matching Brew Kettle beer. Tell us what you want and there is a good chance we can make it for you.
The following is a description of the most common beer styles, and it is followed by a list of our brewed-on-premise beers.
CREAM ALE/LAGER style beer is pale in colour, light in body, and with low to medium bitterness and hoppiness.
DARK ALE/CONTINENTAL DARK style beer is dark copper to brown in colour, and has a full hop and malt flavour and a smooth to sweet aftertaste.
EUROPEAN LAGER style beer is generally amber to copper in colour, with light to medium body and medium hop flavour.
EUROPEAN PALE ALE style beer is pale to deep amber in colour, with a high hop bitterness and a medium hop flavour and body.
There are so many enjoyable beers in the world the Brew Kettle encourages you to experiment with your selection. To facilitate this we have kept our pricing simple.
There are 4 price levels, and all taxes (GST, PST, Excise, U-Brew (yes, U-Brew tax) are included. As well, we do not charge for bottle sterilizing, and plastic or metal caps are also included in the price of all beer. In short, if you have your own bottles, the prices below are all you pay!
